Finley Freddie Wolvey
9 months
Finley was born on April 4th 2006, much to our delight. A little brother for Jaimee-ann, or not so little at 10lbs 2 & half oz! Jaimee-ann was extremely excited to be a big sister, and chose the name Finley for him.
One of the things Finley loved most was being outside, that special excited look he had when he felt the breeze across his face! We're so glad of all the trips we went on as a family, the zoo, the farm, The New Forest and the beach.
Finley was developing a very cheeky personality. It was obvious to everyone also, that Jaimee-ann and Finley had a very special connection, a bond growing stronger everyday-with their own special smiles. It would only take Jaimee-ann to walk through the door from school to get them instantly with a wiggle of excitement!
I was delighted when one of Finleys first words was "mum mum mum!", but with his sister's influence and encouragement, mum, mum, mum, soon turned into bum, bum bum!
Finley also enjoyed music time with his big sister and daddy - although I'm not sure if I would call it music!. He would shake anything that made a noise - or bang, and the louder the better!
Finley was always smiling, everyone always commented on how happy he always was.
Unfortunately, during his sisters 7th birthday party, in September, Finley developed a rash and ended up in hospital. Many, many tests were done and it appeared that our little Finley had a rare Auto-Immune Disorder, where his own body was destroying his blood cells, although tests were still ongoing. This meant regular trips & stays in hospital for blood & platelet transfusions.
How so very brave our little Finley was in hospital and what he went through in those few months, most people wouldn't experience in a lifetime. Most days felt very long and hard for us, but Finley took each day in his stride. All the nurses and doctors used to comment on how he never complained and always had a huge smile for them.
Sadly, and very unexpectedly, on Saturday 6th January 2007, whilst in his mummy's & daddy's arms, it was time for Finley to leave us. His sister told him how so very much she will miss him, that she will always love him and how he was the 'bestest' brother.
Finley was the piece of jigsaw that we didnt know was missing-he made our family complete.
Our darling Finley,
We can only dream of you, where ever you are,
We'll hear you laugh, we'll see you smile,
We'll be with you, just for a while.
But when the morning comes and the sunshine begins to rise,
It's only a dream, when we open our eyes.
We used to believe in forever,
But forever's too good to be true,
We don't know what else to do, except to try to dream of you.
You so easily won the hearts of all who knew you. For a little guy, you've left such a big empty space which can never be filled.
"we always knew you were an angel, we just couldn't see your wings"
Our Brave, Beautiful Boy,
Finley.
FINLEYS LEGACY
LONDON MARATHON on April 22nd 2007
We are extremely touched that this year DAVE ASKEW, manager of Air Products (Finleys uncle's boss!) will be running the London Marathon in honor of our Finley. All monies raised will be donated to the JOE GLOVER TRUST, a childrens charity providing direct help to families who have children on Piam Brown Ward at Southampton General Hospital. Finley spent alot of time there!
Thank you to all those who are sponsoring him. Air Products have also said they will match the final total raised! GOOD LUCK DAVE, we were very moved when you asked if you could run in Finleys name.
FINLEY......We are also going to SPONSOR AN ANIMAL at MARWELL ZOO in your name. We know you enjoyed your trip there with us last summer. Daddy is going to hold an annual 'parent & child' Tennis Tournament in your name, to raise funds every year to make it an on-going project. We are going on your birthday to decide which animal is best!
- the ones we love are never gone,
for they live within our hearts.-

Finley.....we have now sponsored a penguin in your name at Marwell Zoo, as you loved them when you saw them! His name is TWIX and is a Humboldt Penguin. Both of you share the same birthday! There is an adoptors card on display and we have arranged also for a permanant plaque with your name on to be placed in the enclosure also.

Our first parent and child tennis tournament in your name! You made the sky blue, the perfect weather! The day went really well, your sister and brother proudly sported t-shirts with your photo on too! Jaimee-ann and daddy were on a team together....team Wolvey! I will put some pictures of the tournament on here.
Thankyou to all of you who took part! See you all next year for the re-matches!

Little Brother - by Christie Wildman
For JaimeAnnXX
You have this little Brother,
He loves you very much,
But you’ll never get to see him,
Or feel his gentle touch.
He had to go away you see,
Through God’s garden gates.
Though he longs to meet you,
Heaven’s where he waits.
You have this little Brother,
He’s sending you his love,
Although he longs to be with you,
He watches from above.
He grew his Angel wings you see,
Though none of us were ready,
On one of heavens clouds he sleeps,
Cuddling his teddy.
You have this little Brother,
He’d love to come and play.
But for all eternity,
In the sky is where he’ll stay.
God had a plan you see,
He needs him by his side,
He’s shown him how to use his wings,
Through heavens clouds he glides.
You have this little Brother,
And though you are apart,
The love that you feel for him,
Will remain ever in your heart.
